Hey, I’m Hayden—Founder of Autonomy Salon & Wellness. I’m a non-binary trans man (he/they) with a passion for transformations that go deeper than aesthetics. Hair is more than how we’re seen—it’s self-expression and a reflection of who we are. I work with your natural flow to create shapes and colors that align with your vision, not the world’s expectations. Your scalp is like a map, and together, we’ll uncover pathways that connect you to your authentic self!
I am a neurodivergent alternative hairdresser who focuses on shags, mullets, and custom color blocks! Not headed to a rock show and just need a nice cut? I’ve got you. My special interests include anything fantasy, reading, cats, videogames, and good vibes. I am very passionate about leftist ideas and liberation. When you sit in my chair, I will meet you where you’re at that day; whether that means vibing in solitude or being silly + gabbing about whatever.
I am a Richmond based hair artist, specializing in vivid colors/fantasy hair that you will love to wear.
Hi, I’m Alyssa (she/they)! I’m all about transformations—whether it’s a bold haircut, or intricate balayage, I love helping people feel like their best selves. I’m happily engaged to my wife, and we share our home with three quirky cats and our dog, Appa. When I’m not in the salon, I’m probably diving into a good video game, binging comfort shows, or experimenting with great food. I’m a bit of an introvert, but I love connecting with clients over all things beauty. Can’t wait to meet you!
Tony, Gendafirm (he/they) I’ve spent over ten years in the salon industry, including seven behind the chair, and my journey has always been about more than hair. As a trans masc person who’s been transitioning for eight years, I’m deeply committed to creating affirming spaces—whether through styling or through my work as a gender doula. I’m TOVA certified, VARC Autism trained, and currently completing a trauma-informed leadership course. I bring a blend of lived experience, practical tools, and peer support to those navigating their own paths. I’m also preparing to begin my studies in social work to expand the ways I show up for trans and gender non-conforming folks. At the heart of everything I do is a belief in autonomy, dignity, and joy—and a desire to hold space that honors each person’s whole self.
Hi, I’m a recently licensed stylist/assistant at Autonomy Salon and Wellness. I’m always looking for new blow out clients and will have future opportunities for model calls you can keep an eye out for me on Instagram @ruthshairplay! During my days off I love to stay in and wind down with a silly rom com and have unexpectedly long boba-talk sessions with my lovely friends. I’m hope you’ll keep up with my journey as a new stylist!
Hi I’m Babs (They/Them) come see me at 414 W. Broad St.! - I enjoy doing the strange and unusual. The bold and unconventional. Finding ways to make people happy and bringing out their true selves. I mostly do fantasy colors, but I have fun with whatever color makes their way into my chair. I also enjoy doing alternative cuts. My outer shell screams introvert, but mention something I like I become a yapper. I enjoy connecting with my clients with mutual interests or finding out fun things about them.
Hello! My names Ty (He/Him) I’ve been behind the chair for 14+ years and I specialize in color formulation and precision cutting. I love to take on major transformations just as much as a simple putting away the natural “sparkle” root. I enjoy working with extensions as well as working with curly/coily textures. I focus on creating a signature look that is all about you when you look in the mirror.
