Just a silly little Hello and Welcome to start! My name is Hayden Muller, proud (and often quite in awe of) owner of Autonomy Salon and Wellness. We’re located at 414 W Broad St in the Arts District of RVA. Autonomy is where self care and empowerment meet. This truly is a space designed to come get grounded and leave feeling like the best version of yourself. It is has the vibe that you are coming into the home of a friend who wants the best for you. Here, beauty and wellness aren’t rushed, nor transactional. Everything we do is intentional, intuitive, and is rooted in being present. Autonomy’s Philosophy: Here at Autonomy, we don’t believe beauty is something you have to earn, we believe it’s already there. It is our job to enhance what already makes you, you through transformative hair services, intuitive cutting, scalp massage, and energy work. Hair can be an outlet, or even a portal to a place where you can release and find clarity. In this space identity, and empowerment meet together. You don’t only leave with a new hair, you also walk out more aligned with yourself and who you are inside and out. Bodily Autonomy & Inclusivity: It’s all about your voice, your pace, and your experience. You will always come first! (Unless your being a jerk to one of team- be nice to my little beans!) When you are here, consent, transparency, and gender neutral pricing are the focal points, because everyone deserves equal treatment and the freedom to show up as authentically and have their voices heard. We proudly serve guests of all ages and background. We have stylists that care for toddlers with their first haircut all the way to our elders and mentors embracing their silver. Whoever you are, however you want to show up, you’re welcomed here. (I truly just make sure all of the paperwork is done.) • We do presence, and not performance. If haircuts were only about dead ends, we’d all have found our stylist by now. Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATIONS • PAYMENT • GRATITUDE
These are our policies that support consistency, care, and mutual respect.
These guidelines help us show up fully for you and make sure our stylists can sustainably do the work that they love.
Our Time and Expectations:
We value your time and ours.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled at your stylist’s discretion.
• A 100% rescheduling fee applies
• This fee may be applied to a new appointment booked within 7 days, based on stylist availability
• The grace period offers flexibility but not a discounti, as services are based on time reserved, not minutes used
Cancellations & No-Shows
A card on file, and a 50% deposit is required for any new guests to book online with any of our creative team.
• 48+ hours’ notice: No charge
• Under 48 hours: 50% of the service cost
• No-shows: 100% of the service cost
(Online booking may be paused after a no-show but you can still book directly with us by reaching out directly.)
Sometimes, if you cancel outside of our 48 hour window and rebook within 7 days, the cancellation fee may be applied to the new appointment.
This depends on:
• timely and respectful communication
• stylist availability
• stylist discretion
This option exists in addition to and not in place of the cancellation policy.
Payment & Refunds:
• 3.5% card processing fee (waived with cash)
• Hourly pricing ensures your time is undivided
• All payments & deposits are non-refundable
7 Day Guarantee:
• If adjustments are needed, email, or text us within 7 days letting us know what you’re unhappy with or doesn’t feel quite right.
• If further support is needed, Hayden will personally take care of you at no additional cost until you are satisfied with your service.
***This does not apply to change-of-mind when the service was delivered with technical excellence and your hair’s integrity remains intact***
• We cannot guarantee results without the purchase & use of recommended home-care products
Products:
• Exchanges within 30 days with 75% or more product remaining
• If we still can’t find the right fit, we’ll apply the product’s value toward your next service
Financial Accessibility:
If financial limitations may raise concerns when booking your appointment, don’t book online.
Email, or text us instead.
We are dedicated to working with you before cancellation becomes your only option.
Gifts & Gratitude:
Tips are welcome but never expected! Your presence and support of the team is enough.
Out hourly rates are reflective of what it looks like to make a sustainable income for each of our stylists.
If you’d like to add gratuity, just let us know or do it when you check out with your stylist or at our front desk.
